Little demonstrates an awareness of her surroundings, and ultimately spends these fifty pages searching for comfort among the members of her family, lovers, and self-affirmation.

About the Author
Vanise Little (Dakota) graduated from Harlem Junior/Senior High School, in North Montana, in the spring of 2022. She spent most of her senior year working on elements of me, while also contributing editorial work to In Our Time of Knowing. She was also a key member of the school's artistic community, working at The Roarin' Times and also editing poems for other students. Little plans to attend college in Montana and eventually develop a career in the foster care system. She also plans to take journalism as a minor.
